Description

Gary Kavanagh will present a series examining the history of modern Russia from the Communist Revolution in 1917 through the current government under Vladimir Putin. With the US relationship with Russia being re-examined under the Trump Administration, this seminar will provide historical insight into Russia's current government, economy and foreign policy. Kavanagh has a Master's Degree in Modern European and Diplomatic History from George Washington University.

Part One: Russian Revolution until Stalin's Takeover (1917-1926)

Part Two: Stalin's Era (1927-1953)

Part Three: Kruschchev, Brezhnev, and Andropov (1954-1984)

Part Four: Gorbachev, Yeltsin, and Putin (1985- Present)
