Program Description
Description
Traditional Ukrainian Easter eggs are elaborate masterpieces called pysanky. Each pysanka is decorated with Ukrainian folk designs of geometric patterns or animals, often in a variety of bright colors. Artists use a wax pen to draw designs onto eggs, and then add color in a series of dye baths as they continue to apply more wax to finish the designs. Join us to create your own pysanka with new or traditional Ukrainian folk designs using this traditional wax-resist method. Participants will need to return to the library to retrieve their finished pysanka on or after Monday, April 15.
