Palette Knife Painting Workshop

In Nancy’s workshop, we will learn that the palette knife is not just a tool for mixing paint on your palette but can also be used to create some pretty stunning effects in your paintings that are not possible with a brush. 

Nancy will demonstrate the following:

• The use of tools
• Demo to a solid start (so the class can try and then have time for questions)

Supplies to Bring:

• Canvas: Your choice of sizes 8" x 10" to 11" x 14"
• Palette Knives (or borrow Nancy’s to use in class)
• Paper Towels
• Oil Paints (Nancy will bring in examples of different brands of oil paints for you to try in class)
• Your Photo (or choose from Nancy’s photos)
• Cold Wax (Nancy will bring it to class for you to use)

(Note: This class is geared towards oil painting. Some of you may not have oil paints. Nancy will bring into class different brands of oil paints for you to try in class.)

Cost of Workshop:

• $30 for club members (plus $5 materials fee)   
• $35 for non-club members (plus $5 materials fee)

Plan to pay on the day of class. Please bring either exact cash or a check payable to the Sykesville Painting Club.
