Week Calendar

Writers of all levels and genres are invited to join our weekly writing group. It is a flexible, drop-in, stay-as-long-as-you-like environment.

Staff from the Carroll County Department of Social Services will be available to share community resources and DSS services; offer application assistance for SNAP, TCA, MA, and more; and assist with child support services. 

Join us for a friendly group gathering to practice speaking English. This program, led by a partner from The Literacy Council of Carroll County, is geared toward adults who are English language learners.

Join the Mount Airy Knitters for a weekly roundtable of knitting, conversation, and fun. All experience levels are welcome.

Bring your writing, works-in-progress, or works-in-thought. This writing group allows beginners, unpublished, and published writers to network, learn, vent, and feel inspired to move to the next level.

Learn the basics to feel comfortable using a sewing machine. This introductory-level class includes the EC sewing machine certification necessary for many other classes and/or independent sewing machine use in the makerspace.

Experience the many benefits of yoga and meditation. This class, taught by Rebecca Berg, welcomes students of all levels. Adaptations for using a chair will be shared if participants are uncomfortable getting on the floor.

This hands-on class will cover everything you need to know about caring for your knives and how to use them. You'll learn how to chop, dice, and mince and get plenty of practice with other professional cuts. This is a beginner class.

Join this friendly crochet group open to beginners and experienced crocheters alike. Those new to crocheting should bring a size J hook and a light-colored, worsted-weight yarn to the class.

Join guest chefs Dom and Stephanie Greco from Ötzi Mediterranean Market & Eatery as they share the rich culinary traditions of the Mediterranean.

Join us for a friendly game of casual, non-competitive American Mah Jongg. This program is for experienced and newer players with some play experience. An instructor will not be present. Please bring a current National Mah Jongg League card.

Sometimes it can be overwhelming understanding cybersecurity and how to protect ourselves from cyber threats. In this seminar, learn best practices for identifying and handling cyber incidents such as fraud, scams, and more.

Patatas Bravas are one of the most popular items on any Spanish tapas menu. In this hands-on class, you'll learn how to fry up crispy potatoes and top them with bold, flavorful sauces inspired by Puerto Rican cuisine.

Whether you are a chess newbie or an expert, you will find a community here in Westminster Branch's Chess Club and walk away having learned something new from our personal instructor.

In this introductory class, you will learn the basics of this ancient and challenging tile game. We will follow the National Mah Jongg League rules of play. Exercise your brain while having great fun!
