Program Description

Description

This panel discussion is for anyone who is dreaming of, thinking of, planning, or actually gardening and creating a backyard habitat. Discover tips from experienced gardeners, ask questions, and share your own insights. Join Steve Allgeier, Westminster Tree Commission member and train-the-trainer Master Gardener, Ross Fornaro, an expert on ponds and organic lawn care, and Andrea Kowaleski, Master Gardener and native plant enthusiast to learn about what to grow to produce food sources and establish a shelter for birds and insects – while enjoying the beauty of your yard. We will be using the 2021 One Maryland One Book selection, The Book of Delights by Ross Gay. In collaboration with Union Mills Homestead, NaturaLawn of America, and University of Maryland Extension Home and Garden Information Center. In partnership with Carroll Citizens for Racial Equality, NAACP Carroll County Chapter, and Carroll Arts Center. Watch LIVE on YouTube or Facebook!
