Program Type:
Gardening and EnvironmentProgram Description
Description
Jennifer Munch's grandfather kept bee hives and her grandmother always had a dish of honeycomb on the table. In 2015, Jennifer decided to add beekeeping to her projects around her farm. She started by taking a class with the Carroll County Beekeepers Association and has been enthralled with bees, their life cycle, and their superorganism ever since. Jennifer will share her knowledge of bees, their important agricultural role, and the history of honey, which has been in the human diet for more than 8,000 years.
This program is targeted toward adults, but anyone with a serious interest in beekeeping and bees is welcome!
