DESCRIPTION:Mock Trial Camp is designed for students entering grades 6 -9.
  In this multi-day camp, students will learn about Mock Trial by taking o
 n a legal case, either civil or criminal in nature, that challenges them t
 o think critically about timely issues. Acting as attorneys and witnesses,
  students portray the defense or plaintiff/prosecution and are scored on t
 heir performances by the judges. Presented by Carroll County Public Libra
 ry and Carroll County Public Schools. Program participants will:Further t
 heir understanding of the law, court procedures, and the legal systemIncre
 ase their proficiency in soft skills such as listening, speaking, reading 
 and reasoning; andHeighten their appreciation for academic studies as well
  as career consciousness of law-related professionsStudents should registe
 r for the 7/13 session and plan to attend Monday, 7/13 and Tuesday, 7/14 a
 t Exploration Commons. Students will also be given additional time to gath
 er and prepare at Exploration Commons on the morning of Wednesday, 7/15. F
 inal arguments will be held in court on the afternoon of Wednesday, 7/15. 
 Caregivers and parents are encouraged to attend final arguments on Wednesd
