Program Description

Description

Join us for a special event with bestselling author Eliza Knight as she talks about her recent collaboration Can't We Be Friends. The historical novel uncovers the boundary-breaking, genuine friendship between Ella Fitzgerald, the Queen of Jazz, and iconic movie star Marilyn Monroe. Eliza Knight is a USA Today and international bestselling author of historical women’s fiction. Her love of history began as a young girl when she traipsed the halls of Versailles. As an avid history buff, she’s written dozens of novels including The Mayfair Bookshop, Starring Adele Astaire, Ribbons of Scarlet, A Day of Fire, and Can’t We Be Friends, which have been translated into multiple languages. She is the creator of the popular historical blog, History Undressed, and host of the History, Books and Wine podcast. Knight lives in Maryland and Florida with her husband, three daughters, two dogs, and a turtle.

An author talk will be followed by book sales and signing. Registration is suggested but not required for this Human Library companion program. Come early to participate in the Human Library and then stay for our author event!

Eliza will be in conversation with Madeline Martin, bestselling author of The Last Bookshop in London, The Librarian Spy, and The Keeper of Hidden Books.

Presented by A Likely Story Bookstore and Carroll County Public Library.
