Among the approximately 200,000 people from the German states who came to America in 1854, was a young woman named Elizabeth Masser. She married Peter Thorn and the two cared for the Evergreen Cemetery in Gettysburg, PA. Elizabeth never thought of herself as a heroine, but that's exactly what she became because of her deeds before, during, and after the Battle of Gettysburg. Join Jeff Greenawalt, a volunteer historian for the Adams County Historical Society, to hear the incredible story of this amazing woman.
