Week Calendar

Writers of all levels and genres are invited to join our weekly writing group. It is a flexible, drop-in, stay-as-long-as-you-like environment.

Join us for a friendly group gathering to practice speaking English. This program, led by a partner from The Literacy Council of Carroll County, is geared toward adults who are English language learners.

Join the Mount Airy Knitters for a weekly roundtable of knitting, conversation, and fun. All experience levels are welcome.

Bring your writing, works-in-progress, or works-in-thought. This writing group allows beginners, unpublished, and published writers to network, learn, vent, and feel inspired to move to the next level.

We will practice creating digital designs in Adobe Illustrator to be used for the Cricut Maker. In this class, we'll specifically work with heat transfer vinyl and create a small potholder project to put our skills to use!

Join us for our April selection, Citizen Kane, which many critics call "the greatest film of all time," and was written, directed, and stars Orson Welles.

Learn what makes tiramisu an irresistible classic! Participants will learn what tiramisu is and create their very own to take home to share. Registration is one group of two participants.

Do you enjoy playing board games? Want to meet new friends with the same interest? Join us on Monday afternoons to play games and meet new people. 

Knitters and crocheters are welcome to join this gathering to share tips, projects, and patterns.

This two-part program will introduce you to design basics, machine use, and safety procedures for our Iconic i2015 CNC Router. Session one will focus on project design and the VCarve software.

This month's selection is The Demon of Unrest by Erik Larson.

Volunteers from the Carroll County Genealogical Society are available to help with your family history research. Please contact volunteers at info@ccgsmd.org to schedule a time if you require CCGS Staff assistance.

Venture into abstract art with acrylic paint. All supplies will be provided. Spend an hour or two delving into colors and textures to create a beautiful acrylic painting of your own. 

Old CD cases make a great stand-up frame to keep a photo of a loved one. Join us as we upcycle materials to create a photo frame to keep close by at your desk or work area. All supplies will be provided.

This month's selection is The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley. Books will be available for pickup at CCPL's Westminster Branch.

Experience the many benefits of yoga and meditation. This class, taught by Rebecca Berg, welcomes students of all levels. Adaptations for using a chair will be shared if participants are uncomfortable getting on the floor.

This series of sewing classes introduces new or less experienced sewists to beginner sewing information, resources, and hands-on experience.

In this class we will focus on editing photos in Adobe Photoshop to get the best results with our Fusion Pro and Fusion Edge laser engravers. 

Laser Certification is required prior to attending this program.

Join us for an evening of fun and fitness in this beginner's line dancing class. We suggest bringing water and wearing comfortable shoes and clothing for the class. 

This class will discuss using cardstock, cardboard, and fabric with the laser cutters here at Exploration Commons. We will go over how to cut and engrave each material safely and provide helpful tips.
