Week Calendar

Writers of all levels and genres are invited to join our weekly writing group. It is a flexible, drop-in, stay-as-long-as-you-like environment.

Get together at the library for a fun social time for you and your children. We’ll provide the space, toys, and activities, you provide the fun. Play is an important part of developing early literacy skills.

Join the Mount Airy Knitters for a weekly roundtable of knitting, conversation, and fun. All experience levels are welcome. 

Bake a delicious sweet for your sweethearts. This strawberry roll cake is decorated with hearts, baked, and filled with strawberry jam and cream cheese.

Celebrate this Valentine's Day by bringing the one you love to the library! Join us with friends and family to enjoy fun, caring-themed activities, and dancing. Light refreshments will be served. 

Bring your writing, works-in-progress, or works-in-thought. This writing group allows beginners, unpublished, and published writers to network, learn, vent, and feel inspired to move to the next level.

You're invited to a morning playgroup just for little ones! Enjoy a warm and inviting space where you and your child can play with our toys, practice gross motor skills on our baby obstacle course, enjoy music, and socialize with others.

The library is more than just books. It's a place to come together as a community. We welcome teens and adults with developmental disabilities and their caregivers to join us for games, crafts, music, and more!

It's important to take time for yourself during these hectic and often uncertain times. Serenity journaling is an opportunity to take a few minutes to slow down, think, and write.

Come to the library to visit with or read to a book-loving dog. Research shows that reading to animals boosts reading skills in children and helps with social skills and emotional health for all ages.

Every dog enjoys a good story! Trained reading dogs from My Caring Paws will provide a relaxed, informal atmosphere for kids to practice reading.

The eclipse is coming! Are you ready? Join us for an interactive program with NASA partner Eclipse Ambassadors to learn why and how eclipses happen and what to do on April 8. Eclipse glasses will be provided courtesy of the library.
