Description

Learn how templates can increase sewing speed and accuracy. In this class, we will make a 12" x 18" reversible placemat with mitered corners. Previous sewing experience is necessary.

Students should bring the following supplies to class: 

  • Fabric: 45" wide piece of 100% cotton lightweight home decor fabric, pre-washed and dried
  • For 2 placemats:
    • 1/3 yard main fabric
    • 1/2 yard contrasting fabric for back and border
  • Thread and a matching filled bobbin for your machine.
  • Sewing Machine*
  • Blind hemming foot for your machine

*Exploration Commons sewing machines are available for certified users on a first-come, first-served basis. Please indicate if you will be bringing your own machine or using one of ours.
