Program Description
Description
Join us for a film analysis and writing workshop hosted by professional writing partners Aliza Layne and Hans Heisler. The workshop will focus on collaboratively recrafting the story of Disney's Wish. Together, we'll discuss ideas, create concept art and storyboards, write a synopsis, and reimagine our own version of the story.
How would you use the same ideas to make your own story? In our version, we might add a prince from the stars, explore the origins of magic, bring back the original romance, or include more friendship drama. Mimicking the experience of a real Disney writers' room, this workshop will help build constructive critique and collaborative storytelling skills. Very few pieces of professional storytelling are written alone, and building these skills for those who want to be a writer is vital!
There will also be an opportunity to earn service learning hours by using the ideas discussed in the group to produce a work of library beautification.
Be sure to check out Wish movie screenings at CCPL's Eldersburg, Mount Airy, and Westminster Branches in the weeks leading up to the workshop!
