Program Description

Description

Join us in welcoming Rachel Lipman of Loew Vineyards, one of the oldest existing vineyards and wineries in Maryland, and one of the longest family tenures of mead production in the world.

Rachel is a fifth-generation winemaker and will tell the harrowing tale of her family history, from nearly being wiped out in the Holocaust to her grandfather’s journey to the US then building a family and a successful winemaking business here in Mount Airy. Rachel will share what compels her to carry on the tradition, honoring her family's legacy while innovating for future generations.

Immediately following the presentation, anyone 21 or older, with proper ID, will have the chance to taste some of Loew Vineyards' wines.
