Description

Join us for a virtual music performance and talk by Peabody Institute doctoral student, Matthew Pellegrino, on Korean music that inspires optimism and transformation. Born in South Korea and raised in the United States, Matthew is an award-winning composer, classically trained oboist, and devoted music educator. Learn about Korea's most famous folksong, Arirang, sung in both the North and the South as a symbol of unity. Using the 2020 One Maryland One Book selection, The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See, as a backdrop, Carroll County Public Library, Maryland Humanities, and Peabody Institute present an exciting opportunity for expanded understanding of Korean culture through music. This event will be be LIVE on both Facebook and YouTube.
