Description

Dr. Mama Deborah, the Afropella Griot, is a storyteller with singing-centered presentations. Afropella is a play on a capella and, in this presentation, IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE MUSIC: From Spirituals to Freedom Songs, she answers where do you find the true history of Blacks (African-Americans) in this country and what is the greatest singing movement in the history of this country. These questions are answered through stories and songs as well as in questions to and answers from the audience.
