History and GenealogyProgram Description
Description
Join us for five nights of programming from the History Consortium on one of America’s favorite subjects, railroads.
With changes in rail service throughout the country, many train stations were abandoned. Join Howard Burrell, history expert, and Antigoni Ladd, Adams County Historical Society, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, as they present on how several train stations found new lives as storefront businesses, apartments, or museums and that some cities used their train stations to open shopping malls, restaurants, and theaters. View the success stories of the survivors, from the Lincoln Train Station in Gettysburg, PA to the majestic Union Station in Washington, DC and Union Depot in St. Paul, MN.
This program is sponsored by the Adams County Historical Society, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
