Description
Although most famous for her fiery crash on May 6, 1937, the Hindenburg airship had completed 62 successful flights before the ship’s hydrogen lifting gas ignited while landing at Lakehurst, New Jersey. Join Horst Schirmer, who flew on the Hindenburg when he was 6 years old, as he describes the background, design, and legacy of the Hindenburg. Schirmer's father, Max, designed the aeronautics for the airship.
