Alan DeValerio was a butler in the White House from 1980-1989. He'll give you the inside details about all the preparations involved in White House entertaining. He will also share stories from his time in the White House, and stories passed down from previous butlers, going back to the FDR administration. Alan will also display many White House artifacts (menus, programs, personal photos, etc. ) he has collected over the years. And after the program, his new book, A History of Entertainment in the Modern White House, will be available for purchase and signing.
